Pop-Tarts Demands Secret Recipe After Taylor Swift Bakes For Kansas City Chiefs

Pop-Tarts has taken a delicious dive into the world of pop music, and to everyone’s delight, it has hitmaker Taylor Swift involved.

The Kellanova-owned snack maker has released a public plea — so public that they took a full-page ad in a newspaper for it — asking Taylor to release the recipe of her homemade Pop-Tarts pastry.

To make sure their plea was heard by the masses, Pop-Tarts used a full-page ad in The Kansas City Star’s Friday print and e-Editions, where the company said they were “tortured” not knowing more about Taylor’s version of the baked goods. Does it have a special filing? Does it have frosting? Pop-Tarts begged to know.

“To KC’s most famous fan. We heard you have a Pop-Tarts pastry recipe,” read the message on the ad.

“We’re tortured not knowing more about this DIY delight. What’s the filling? Does it have frosting? Do they have little holes?” the company said, clearly unable to contain their curiosity just like the rest of the eager Swifties across the world.

The buzz around Taylor’s special Pop-Tarts began after the Kansas City Chiefs’ coach, Andy Reid, spoke about how the Love Story singer captured the hearts of her boyfriend Travis Kelce‘s teammates by baking for them.

“Kind of behind-the-scenes, she, to fit in — she didn’t even know she was doing this, I don’t think — she likes to cook, so she made the offensive linemen homemade Pop-Tarts,” the coach said on an episode of NFL by NBC.

When hosts Mike Florio and Chris Simms asked if he managed to taste one of the Taylor-made goodies, Andy replied, “She didn’t give me one, and the offense linemen definitely didn’t give me one!”

The coach also remarked on how Taylor is currently the woman of the hour across the world, loved for her catchy tunes and heartfelt lyrics.

“Since the Queen has passed away, she might be the most famous woman in the world. She’s so grounded for who she is,” the coach said.

After Andy told the world about Taylor making homemade treats for members of the Kansas City Chiefs, Pop-Tarts became desperate to see what Taylor’s version of the pastry was like.

In their full-page ad that appeared recently in The Kansas City Star’s newspaper, the company made a deal with Taylor, pledging to double a donation to Harvesters food bank in Kansas City if Taylor graces the world with her version of the Pop-Tarts pastry.

“So let’s make a deal,” the ad went on to say. “We are making a donation to Harvesters, a local Feeding America partner food bank, and will double it if you share (your version) of our recipe with the masses.”

Pop-Tarts also promised to offer Andy a bite of her version this time.

“And this time, we’ll make sure coach gets a bite. You in?” the ad said.

If a full-page ad in the local newspaper wasn’t enough, Pop-Tarts also decided to extend its plea on Instagram with a post that said, “Release the Recipe.”

“To KC’s most famous fan, we heard there’s a Pop-Tarts pastry (Your Version) and in its honor, we’re donating to @harvesters, a local Feeding America partner food bank. But if you #releasetherecipe, we’ll double our donation,” Pop-Tarts wrote on Instagram.

In the comments section, Harvesters expressed their gratitude and said they also wanted to take a peek at the recipe.

“We can’t thank you enough! We all want to know her recipe too…” Harvesters commented.

Taylor often swaps her guitar for a whisk and has offered some baked treats to her boyfriend Travis in the past. She once treated Travis to some homemade cinnamon rolls as a pre-game meal, according to former NFL quarterback Bernie Kosar.

“I was at [Kelce’s] house three hours before the game. We’re having a pre-game meal, and Taylor is so nice, she comes in by herself, and she’s so cool,” Bernie said on Audacy’s AM 560 Sports WQAM last December.

Bernie, who noted that he is a vegan, said he couldn’t resist trying some of the Grammy-winner’s cinnamon rolls.

“She made her homemade cinnamon rolls for Travis for a pre-game meal. I’m a juicer right now, trying to be vegan and gluten-free, but I absolutely had to sample some of that cinnamon roll on game day,” he said.

“Release the Recipe,” Pop-Tarts said, hoping the hitmaker would tell the world about the baked goods she offered her boyfriend Travis Kelce and his teammates

Bernie is just one of many big-shots that have praised the singer for her skills in the kitchen. Gigi Hadid once said in an interview with InStyle that her famous friend is an “exceptional cook” and even mentioned the Taylor’s Version dishes that she loves.

“When you’re not hosting, whose dinner party are you never missing, and what’s on the menu?” Gigi was asked by the outlet.

“Taylor Swift is an exceptional cook, and I love her. She also makes a really good bolognese sauce and a really good chili that I love,” Gigi said.

“So, I love to cook, but it’s also such a treat to get cooked for,” she continued. “And when you have friends that really also care about those special moments and the more intimate spaces and what can really come from putting an effort into making the time for that, I think that that’s when you start to find the friends that you really connect with, because you’re both working towards manifesting those really special moments.”

Singer Katy Perry also once raved about Taylor’s cookies in the past and called them “incredible.”

“They were soft. I couldn’t believe they weren’t store-bought.” Katy was quoted saying in an interview.

If being an amazing baker and award-winning singer wasn’t enough, Taylor has also shown that she’s a wonderful friend to her pals as well. For singer Selena Gomez’s 26th birthday in 2018, Taylor baked a cake for her that said, “Gomez or go home.”

“Will I let distance stop me from celebrating my best friend’s bday?” she wrote on social media as she showed off the homemade pink cake.

“I mean I could but why would I want 2” she added, making a special nod to Selena’s popular lyrics from the hit ‘Hands to Myself.’

While some fans were eager to know the recipe themselves, others were not impressed by Pop-Tarts’ marketing gimmick

Billie Eilish Follows Emotional Grammys Acceptance Speech With Post About Brother Finneas

After winning Song of The Year at the 66th Grammys for Barbie’s “What Was I Made For?”, there was one person Billie Eilish wanted to thank: her brother and co-writer, Finneas.

Taking to her Instagram account, the 22-year-old singer wrote, “Can’t even believe this jesuuuuuuus. Thank you to the @recordingacademy and to @finneas for being the best brother and musical partner in the entire world. This is crazy. Thank you thank you,” alongside a photo of the two smiling siblings holding their gilded gramophones.

The song also won the Grammy for Best Song Written for Visual Media earlier in the day, while Barbie The Album, produced by Mark Ronson, Brandon David, and Kevin Weaver, won the award for Best Compilation Soundtrack for Media.

“Damn, dude! I’m shocked out of my balls!” the nine-time Grammy winner said while accepting the award with Finneas. “Everybody in this category; that was a crazy list of incredible people.”

The song beat Lana Del Rey, Taylor Swift, Jon Batiste, Dua Lipa, Miley Cyrus, SZA, and Olivia Rodrigo.

The young star also thanked Barbie’s director, Greta Gerwig, “for making the best movie of the year” and referred to Finneas as her “best friend in the world.”

Eilish gave an emotional performance of the Barbie ballad during the ceremony while her brother and longtime collaborator accompanied her on the piano.

The duo have been working together since 2015, when a then-14-year-old Eilish recorded a song, “Ocean Eyes,” that her brother had written. Ever since then, the two have been working side-by-side, including on the “Happier Than Ever” album, one of the most successful albums in Billie’s career.

Barbie’s end-credits track had previously earned the pair a Golden Globe for Best Original Song, which marked the second Golden Globe for the talented sibling duo after winning in 2022 in the same category for “No Time to Die,” which was written for the James Bond movie of the same name.

When receiving the golden statuette in January, the California singer opened up about how she felt writing the sentimental song, which came at a time in her life when she was dealing with depression.

“It was exactly a year ago, almost, that we were shown the movie, and I was very, very miserable and depressed at the time,” she said while accepting the award on stage.

“Writing that song kind of saved me a little bit,” she revealed, and added, “a year later, and here we are, and it’s really surreal. I feel incredibly, incredibly lucky and grateful.”

But the songwriting pairing could get even luckier if they accomplish a feat on award shows that was last achieved by the legendary Céline Dion.

Eilish’s and Finneas’ “What Was I Made For?” stands a shot at being the first number since “My Heart Will Go On,” from 1997’s “Titanic,” to win both the best song Oscar and the song of the year Grammy. The important Grammy/Oscar dual victory wasn’t even awarded to globally successful tracks such as Frozen’s “Let It Go” or A Star Is Born’s “Shallow.”

To mirror Céline Dion’s impressive achievement, “What Was I Made For?” will have to beat another song from Barbie, “I’m Just Ken,” as well as “It Never Went Away” (American Symphony), “Wahzhazhe (A Song for My People) (Killers of the Flower Moon), and “The Fire Inside” (Flamin’ Hot).

If the powerful song wins at this year’s Academy Awards, set to take place on March 10, it will confirm the idea that numbers made specifically for films also hold significance in broader cultural contexts.

Linguistics Study Reveals Link Between Loudness Of A Language And Region Temperature

We’ve all heard those stereotypes portraying people who speak Latin languages, whether that be Spanish, French, or Italian, as sounding more “passionate” or even “loud”.

As it turns out, the stereotype may stem from some truth, as a new study published on Thursday (December 5) suggested that temperatures influence the way we talk.

Dr. Søren Wichmann, a linguist at Kiel University in Germany, together with colleagues from China, demonstrated in the study that was published in the online journal PNAS Nexus that average ambient temperatures influenced the loudness of certain speech sounds.

Languages in warmer regions are louder than those in colder regions, a linguistics study found

Image credits: Tianheng Wang, Søren Wichmann

Søren explained: “Generally speaking, languages in warmer regions are louder than those in colder regions.”

To summarize the study, we are surrounded by air when we speak and listen; therefore, spoken words are transmitted through the air as sound waves, as per Phys Org. As a result, the physical properties of air influence how easy it is to produce and hear speech.

Søren explained: “On the one hand, the dryness of cold air poses a challenge to the production of voiced sounds, which require vibration of the vocal cords. On the other hand, warm air tends to limit unvoiced sounds by absorbing their high-frequency energy.”

These factors could reportedly favor a higher volume of certain speech sounds in warmer climates, known as sonority in scientific terms.

The Danish linguist and his colleagues reportedly used the Automated Similarity Judgment Program (ASJP) database to test whether these factors really had an effect on the development of languages.

At the moment, the database is reported to contain the basic vocabulary of 5,293 languages and is constantly being expanded with the support of the ROOTS Cluster of Excellence, a German research institution in Kiel.

Subsequently, Søren and his team discovered that languages that occur around the Equator in particular have a high average sonority, whereas languages in Oceania and Africa have the highest corresponding index.

On the other hand, the world record for low sonority reportedly belongs to the Salish languages on the northwest coast of North America.

Nevertheless, some exceptions have been found in this trend. For instance, some languages in Central America and on the Southeast Asian mainland have a rather low mean sonority, even though they are spoken in very warm regions.

Søren stated: “Overall, however, we were able to establish a clear relationship between the mean sonority of language families and the mean annual temperature.”

As a result, the exceptions indicate that the effects of temperature on sonority develop only slowly and only shape the sounds of a language over centuries or even millennia.

Scientists are reportedly in the midst of discussing the extent to which the environment shapes languages.

The linguistics expert revealed: “For a long time, research assumed that linguistic structures are self-contained and are not influenced in any way by the social or natural environment. More recent studies, including ours, are beginning to question this.”

Søren further informed that “If languages adapt to their environment in a slow process lasting thousands of years, then they carry some clues about the environment of their predecessor languages.”

Woman Uses One Savage Line Whenever Men Want To Split The Bill On Dates

Is gallantry dead? A woman has made it her mission to ensure that she receives first-class princess treatment whenever she’s invited on a first date.

Pearl Botts, from Los Angeles, disclosed her clever approach when men suggest splitting the bill while out dining, a strategy that hasn’t garnered unanimous approval from everyone.

Maryanne Parker, an etiquette expert, has further shared with Bored Panda her take on the traditional unwritten rule that states that men should always foot the bill when they first encounter a woman for a romantic dinner.

The singer has admitted to strongly embracing the concept of “feminine energy” and has tended to favor scenarios where men are at ease with their traditional role as providers.

Taking to her Instagram page followed by 10,000 people, Pearl revealed in a video that she has employed a specific phrase whenever a first date took an unfavorable turn, and this tactic has consistently proven effective for her.

According to Pearl, a woman paying for her own meal is “disrespectful and emasculating to the man”

She explained: “When a man wants to go 50/50 with you on a date, say: ‘Oh my god, I’m so embarrassed right now.

“‘Wait, you wanted to just be friends? I’m so confused – this whole entire time I thought this was a date.

“‘I’m so sorry – here’s my card.’”

“It has nothing to do with my own capability to provide and protect for myself”

Pearl, who frequently also uploads videos on her TikTok page followed by 11,800 thousand people, emphasized the importance of conveying to men that if she were to split the bill, she wouldn’t be satisfied with pursuing a relationship.

She prefers using her straightforward phrase to establish expectations during the initial date, where there’s little at risk.

“‘Wait, you wanted to just be friends?” Pearl would say on dates where men want to split the bill

When you let a man pay, she says, “you’re making space and giving room for him to step into his divine masculinity”

Several men and women supported the influencer’s approach, asserting that it’s prudent to establish your expectations right from the beginning.

A person commented: “The next move is that [Pearl] pays her half and never sees him again.

“She’s not looking for a 50/50 relationship and that’s fine. She’s sending a message loud and clear.”

A woman questioned: “I don’t understand why guys can’t pay for the whole bill?

“Why would you ask a woman on a date if you’re not going to pay? Who raised you?”

Others disagreed as a person wrote: “The person who invited out on a date should pay.”

A man commented: “Yeh no, if a girl ever pulled this on me I’d split the bill and never see her again.

“None of that toxic sh*t I want bringing into a relationship.”

The singer’s video sparked different reactions as some said her response was toxic

Maryanne Parker, an etiquette expert who is the Vice President and Chief Protocol Officer of the California Branch of the Royal Society of St. George, told Bored Panda that according to traditional standards, the person who initiates the date should be prepared to pay the bill, including the tip.

“However, in many cultures when a man invites a woman on a date, he covers the entire bill,” Maryanna explained.

She continued: “It is up to the woman to present herself in a classy and elegant way without being greedy and needy, if she wants to be invited back.

“However, in some situations, the woman can definitely offer to pay half of the bill. And the man can refuse or agree to accept it.

“Either way, if the first date is over coffee, and the man initiated the date, let him pay.

“If the first date is over lobster, the woman can suggest to split the bill and it is up to the man to accept it or not.”

The etiquette coach revealed that she personally prefers a man who handles the initial responsibility and takes care of the bill, especially if he was the one who initiated the date.

Pearl’s method ignited divided replies

Fitness enthusiasts Lesley Maxwell, her daughter, Vanessa Christofi, and her granddaughter, Tia Christofi, continue stunning thousands of social media users who believe the three women are sisters.

For the three generations of women, an ideal plan isn’t to go to the cinema, dine out, or catch up over coffee. Instead, the trio prefers to bond over weight-lifting.

Lesley, 65, defies stereotypes whenever she sets foot in the gym.

“People are always surprised to learn that we are actually three totally different generations of a family,” she told Caters News.

They’re surprised to know I have grandchildren because I suppose it’s a bit out of character to think of a grandmother doing deadlifts and pull-ups at the gym.”

The glam bodybuilder, who also works as a personal trainer, recommends physical exercise to all women regardless of age. “It strengthens our bones and helps us tone our body by adding muscle. I’d love to see more women of all ages lifting weights.”

She also described weight-lifting as “an anti-aging way to train.”

Of course, her workout sessions wouldn’t be the same without Vanessa—who prefers not to reveal her age—and 22-year-old Tia.

“We always have a wonderful time together chatting, having a laugh, and training. I’m so blessed to have such a lovely family,” she said of their bond.

Besides doing the same weight-lifting exercises, the trio enjoys swapping brightly colored workout clothes. The granddaughter, an Instagram influencer and marketing expert, is in charge of picking the vibrant outfits.

“I suppose it’s a bit out of character to think of a grandmother doing deadlifts and pull-ups at the gym,” she said

“I’m lucky I get to share clothes with my daughter and granddaughter. When we do shoots together, most of the clothes come from Tia’s wardrobe. She loves doing the styling and color-coordinating us,” the Melbourne-born grandma said.

In addition to training four times a week, the 65-year-old keeps active thanks to her profession.

“I’m a trainer and in the gym most days. You could say I get some incidental exercise as I’m often carrying the weights or ‘spotting’ my clients,’” she explained.  “’I also do some exercise demonstrations, so I guess that also helps.”

Tia’s social media followers were also surprised by the fitness videos starring her grandma, whom many have mistaken for her mother.

“They’re taken back when I correct them and tell them she is my grandmother. I film my grandmother and I working out, and people love to see it,” she said

“She’s 43 years my senior and we both lift weights and follow the same workout routine while dressed in similar apparel. It was a video that went viral.”

It remains to be seen whether the fitness craze will continue with the next Christofi generation. Today, the trio’s content reminds everyone that there’s no such thing as an age limit to take care of one’s health.
