32 Women Share The Most Stupid Things That Have Ever Been Mansplained To Them

Ever had anything mansplained to you? You know, when a guy starts explaining something to (most likely) a woman about something that they very well know themselves in a condescending or patronizing way.

Sure, it is definitely a serious issue, one that hints at sexism and rudeness, among other things, but also one that can be satisfying and even funny—particularly when the one being mansplained to claps back with an educated response that makes the mansplainer rethink their decisions.

In celebration of the recent Valentine’s Day, Twitter user @J_Dot_J asked people what was the most obvious thing that was mansplained to them. Dozens upon dozens of people shared their best mansplaining stories, not only voicing their frustrations, but also pointing out how nobody should ever assume that you don’t know things.

Bored Panda has collected some of the best responses from the Twitter thread and made it into a list for you to enjoy. While you’re scrolling, why not share your thoughts and vote on the ones you liked the most, and share your mansplaining stories, if you have any, in the comment section below!

Oh, and if this ain’t enough, Bored Panda has two other articles on the topic here and here, so be sure to check them out once you’re done here!

29 Pics Of 3D Street Art That Interacts With Its Surroundings, Created By Caiffa Cosimo

Article created by: Hidrėlėy

Street art has had a bad reputation, some people even think it’s a crime, but there are some amazing artists out there who transform empty walls and spaces into works of art. That’s exactly what Milano-based street Artist Cosimo Cheone Caiffa does, but with a twist. He creates amazing 3D interactive pieces that look stunning.

The artist makes boring spaces pop out with his 3D technique. If you take a picture with the street art at the right angle, you can even become part of the piece. “The idea was born from the desire to get out of the box, and in all my designs I try to send messages of unease, the joy of life and what surrounds me,” said the artist to Bored Panda.

This Twitter Account Collects Photos Of Cats In Small Shops Looking Like They Own The Place (50 New Pics)

Article created by: Greta Jaruševičiūtė

Dropping by a bodega to get some eggs for tomorrow’s benedicts, more often than not, results in meeting its master. First, it’s the piercing eyes in the chips aisle that stare deep into your soul. Then, it’s the meow coming from nowhere. There may also be a furry tail lurking behind the stacked cartons of milk. If you see any of these, it’s a sign you have stumbled upon a bodega cat.

Call it a breed of its own accord, a sub-category of atypically social felines that dwell solely in convenience stores, not too big, not too small. Thanks to the Bodega Cats social media project, which has 462.5K Twitter and 298k Instagram followers, the internet can now sleep well with a seemingly endless collection of cats that totally own their bodegas.

So scroll down for the newest batch of pics featuring felines in the process of… nodding off, shamelessly chilling, or staring at people. We all know very well that it’s they who have total control of the bodegas, and not the bodega owners who have convinced themselves the place is in their hands.

Psst! More adorable cats captured on camera in small shops can be found in our previous posts here and here.

29 Times Entitled Customers Left Ridiculously Absurd Reviews For Not Getting Their Way

Article created by: Mindaugas Balčiauskas

The subreddit r/ChoosingBeggars is full of screenshots, pictures, and stories of entitled people revealing their true colors. After you spend enough time on it, you begin to notice common character tropes, too. There’s the parent who uses their child’s birthday as an excuse to get a discount. The art expert lowballing creators. And, of course, the dissatisfied customer.

The latter often end up on the subreddit through their ridiculous reviews. The drill is usually something like this: they expect a freebie, then get offended for having to pay for the product or service, and turn to the internet to pen a novel, trying to shut down the “vulturous” business. However, even if the premise remains the same, these folks somehow consistently outdo each other.

People Are Cracking Up At These 50 Medieval Memes Made By A History Professor

While memes might seem synonymous with modern life in general and the internet in particular, they are just one of the ways we try to encapsulate a feeling or mood in something that’s easy to share. But truth be told, our ancestors were not that different from us in many ways.

The “Medievalist Matt” Instagram page is dedicated to everything from interesting facts to hilarious and relatable memes. We got in touch with its admin and creator, Matthew Ponesse, Professor of History at Ohio Dominican University, to learn more. So get comfortable as you scroll through, upvote your favorites and be sure to share your own thoughts in the comments section below.

Bored Panda got in touch with Matthew Ponesse, Professor of History at Ohio Dominican University who created and still runs the page. Given that it has thousands and thousands of followers, we wanted to hear his opinion on what makes it so popular.

“I think humor is the main attraction. There is so much stress and anxiety in our daily lives. I think my page offers a bit of relief from the daily challenges that we all face. Secondly, the nature of communication has changed drastically in the last decade. People value memes not only as a source of entertainment, but for how they respond to current events or social phenomena.”

#4

#5

#6

“Memes provide a light-hearted or irreverent commentary on the issues of our day. I try to stay on top of current affairs and cultural changes, and occasionally respond to them through my memes. Lastly, I think people are fascinated by the unknown. There is much about the Middle Ages that people are unfamiliar with. When brought into contact with our culture, medieval ideas and images can appear bizarre, strange, and hilarious, especially when taken out of context.”

#7

#8

#9

Naturally, we wanted to hear more about why he chose to focus on the Medieval ages in particular. “When I was younger, I was fascinated by the differences of medieval life. Castles and knights, serfs and peasants, pilgrims and heretics. It all seemed so fantastic and otherworldly. However, as I came to learn about the Middle Ages, I began to notice how very little humans have changed over time.”

#10

#11

#12

“We still ponder the same questions, cultivate the same ambitions, and attempt to overcome the same challenges. Now, I take delight in how familiar it all is. Perhaps this is why my memes are relatively successful. I approach medieval art as a reflection of our own world. I may exaggerate the connections at times, or perhaps see things that are clearly not intended. But my motivation is to connect the past and the present in a meaningful way.”

#13

#14

#15

Many of us have a picture of what the Medieval ages were like, but it’s generally a mishmash of outdated ideas and Hollywood cliches, so we wanted to hear some common misconceptions Matthew has encountered when it comes to the past. “The greatest misconception I have encountered is that the medieval period was a dark age characterized by ignorance, superstition, chronic warfare, abusive leaders, and a church opposed to new ideas and progress.”

#16

#17

#18

“When you study the Middle Ages, you can’t help but appreciate the vitality of its peoples and the richness of their cultures. This was a dynamic time filled with growth, innovation, and scientific advancement,” he shared with Bored Panda.

#19

#20

#21

“Cities flourished, cathedral spires reached the sky, scholars advanced our understanding of the world, and merchants and traders flourished. True, there was war and disease. Yes, injustice occurred (as it continues to today). But characterizing the Middle Ages as a time of darkness misses the real story.”

#22

#23

#24

He had a few last thoughts. “People sometimes tell me that a particular meme made them laugh out loud in an inappropriate place like a doctor’s office or a meeting, and that the whole room turned to look at them strangely. I just want everyone to know that I consider this greatest compliment.”
